In brief
I advise on a broad range of contentious intellectual property matters including design rights, copyright and trade mark infringement issues, including strategies for dispute avoidance. I am also a Centre for Effective Dispute Resolution (“CEDR”) accredited mediator.

Memberships include the Intellectual Property Institute, the Society for Computers & Law and the Professional Negligence Lawyers Association. I am also a member of CEDR Exchange and Middlesex & Thames Valley Mediators.
In work
- Assisting a computer manufacturer and electronic goods importer in the settlement of an exhaustion of rights trade mark dispute with an international consumer electronics company.
- Advising a leading global IT infrastructure outsourcing company in relation to a mixed breach of contract/misrepresentation/breach of intellectual property claim connected with the transfer of a long term contract for the supply of IT services.
- Conducting copyright infringement litigation pertaining to software licence compliance issues.
- Acting for a major enterprise resource planning company on a succession of disputes concerning copyright and trade mark infringement issues pertaining to use by competitors of trade marks, comparative advertising and computer code copyright infringement.
In the past
I graduated with a BSc (Hons) in Natural Sciences from Durham University, and went on to complete Diplomas in Law for the Common Professional Exam, Law Conversion Course and LPC. In 1996 I joined Boyes Turner as a trainee. Qualifying in 1998 I became an assistant in the Dispute Resolution group and was promoted to associate in 2003. I became a CEDR accredited Mediator in 2006.
In my spare time
I have a keen interest in playing all racquet and bat and ball sports, badminton in the winter, tennis in the summer and table tennis in the garage. I am eagerly awaiting the day when my sons are old enough to join in.
